On the economics of Health Care:
(in response to notthatkindagay)
You state “Besides, who do you trust more to help administer health insurance: a bureaucrat or an insurance employee with a monetary incentive to deny coverage?“ Do you think the government doesn’t have monetary incentive to deny coverage? The logic here is incredibly flawed. I’d much rather fight a health care company than the government.
I see no way in which this situation will (1) save our economy, (2) lead to healthier people, (3) lead to higher productivity.
Re “incredibly flawed” logic: your counterpoint is counter to the point you made last week (I believe on G-Chat), when you argued that government would push out private competition because of its ability to incur massive debt, etc etc. I’m not saying that’s what’s going to happen, I’m saying your not taking your own argument into consideration when you say that government is going to be incentivized to deny coverage to it’s own citizens.
Re 1, 2, 3: just because you don’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not something to be considered or a valid argument.
