How do we get bikers off the sidewalk is the next order of business. I almost got run down by delivery people on bikes last week on two separate occasions. Both times I got yelled at for not moving out of the way…grrrrrr.

If you can make cyclists who ride on the street feel less threatened and persecuted it’s likely they’d stop trying to weave in and out of pedestrians on the sidewalk.  Also, it’s actually more dangerous for the cyclists to ride on the sidewalk than the street.

Truth. However, on my way to work the other morning, some ass in a pick-up truck opened his door w/o looking and totally took out a cyclist. And the bike lanes on 14th st sometimes feel like a death trap. Before turning right, the average car driver, and especially taxi-cabs don’t bother to look in the bike lane.
